L'infermiere che viene formato su libri recenti è una realtà possibile ed è stata realizzata in un paese che del valore a tutti i costi ne ha fatto una ragione di vita, gli Stati Uniti d'America.
Grazie ad un fondo hanno realizzato il progetto di una biblioteca online di volumi infermieristici accessibile a tutti. Questo catalogo ha 14 volumi di testo e immagini con i link a linee guida, video e procedure ufficiali.
Tutto quanto è scritto nei volumi comprese molte immagini possono poi essere riprodotte senza problemi basta seguire una semplice indicazione.
Tutti i volumi sono recenti e leggibili gratuitamente online e scaricabili, l'unico difetto è che sono in inglese, ma hanno pensato anche a questo.
I volumi sono in Inglese e pubblicati nel progetto WisTech Open che pubblica risorse aperte per gli studenti, invece di pensare di mettere tutti i filtri possibili per limitare l'accesso, adesso l'hanno lasciato aperto.
Nel 2023, il Wisconsin Technical College System ha ricevuto 3 milioni di $ per il bilancio biennale 2023-2025 per creare, ampliare e sostenere risorse educative aperte.
WisTech Open è il culmine di questo finanziamento e di precedenti progetti a livello di sistema per ridurre i costi dei libri di testo degli studenti per promuovere convenienza, equità e successo degli studenti.
L'obiettivo dei progetti è favorire lo studio degli studenti e ridurre i costi dello studio. Il progetto è arrivato a oltre 60.000 studenti, favorendo un risparmi di 10.000.000 per le famiglie https://www.cvtc.edu/grants/wistech.
I volumi che sono adesso online possono essere scaricati in inglese oppure se come spesso capita ci sono problemi con la lingua inglese è possibile visualizzare il singolo capitolo del volume e usare il traduttore del proprio browser nella lingua preferita.
I passaggi sono semplici, scegli il volume e si apre la pagina sotto.
Quindi in quella pagina in basso a destra c'è l'opzione per scaricare il libro in inglese, mentre se si clicca read book si apre la pagina sotto che può essere tradotta con il proprio browser.
Il sito online non è ben fatto, il menù del contenuto scorre sulla pagina e non c'è modo per scorrere le pagine e deve essere aperto ogni volta, ma visto che sono libri gratuiti uno sforzo si può fare.
Sfogliando questi libri penso che siano molto utili per chi pensa di voler lavorare all'estero o a bisogno di parlare in inglese , il volume Open RN | Medical Terminology - 2e è multimediale e consente anche di esercitarsi nella pronuncia dei termini.
